It holds your iPhone where you can easily see it. That said, the mount is an obvious difference… and a big advantage for the RiotPWR Controller for iOS (Xbox Edition). I didn’t notice while I was using the controller – only when I was looking for differences. The only one I found are ABXY buttons on the third-party controller are slightly harder to press, but I don’t consider that a flaw. I did a hands-on comparison of an official Microsoft Xbox wireless controller with the RiotPWR one as I looked for differences in the controls. All the buttons, sticks, bumpers, triggers, etc., are right where they’re supposed to be. I’ve spent a few hundred hours holding an Xbox controller over the years, and the RiotPWR one feels like a standard one. You won’t be sacrificing playability by using the RiotPWR Controller for iOS (Xbox Edition) instead of an official Microsoft one. This reduces the weight of the controller a lot. It’s designed so you can put your iPhone in a cradle on a table in front of you while playing. That is more than enough to reach the iPhone mount. The Lightning connector is at the end of a 25-inch cable. I love not ending long gaming sessions with a dead iPhone. I can plug the controller into an external power source and charge my iPhone while I’m playing. What’s more, RiotPWR also included a Lightning pass-through charging port. You don’t have to hassle with pairing the device with your iPhone, or worry about lag from the Bluetooth connection. The most obviously is a wired connection. It is one of a variety of wireless game controllers supported by iOS.īut the RiotPWR version includes useful features not available in Microsoft’s. Let’s address the elephant in the room: if you want to play Xbox Cloud Gaming on your iPhone, you can use Microsoft’s own Xbox wireless controller. But the RiotPWR one has iPhone-friendly features.
